I visited here with a couple of friends after my year abroad in Mexico. Was everything you wanted, lovely comfortable beds, friendly staff, good location, and tasty food on offer as well. Would stay here if I was to return to Valladolid.

We arrived as a family of 10 persons, occupying three rooms, most of the first floor of this hotel. The building is attractive and beautifully restored and is just close enough to downtown to be convenient, but not so close as to be noisy. The garden/pool area is lovely and is maintained entirely by the staff.

The rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. Each has a hammock, which makes for a relaxing “sit” before bed. The bathrooms are large and are comfortably set up with counter space and separation of the sink from the toilet from the shower. The breakfast is excellent – a small table of basics (fruit, yogurt, bread, pancakes, jelly, etc.), coffee and tea, and then eggs/omelets made to your order.

Perhaps most surprising is the staff. Maria Jose, when we arrived, noticed that we were being charged adult rates for the three children in the group by hotels.com, with which we had made the reservation. I would not have noticed, and she easily could have let that get by. Instead, she pointed it out, which reduced the cost of our stay by more than $200. Gabriel provided a series of recommendations about where to go, which in each case resulted correctly – his suggestions of cenotes were spot on and made for a high end to our days.

I can’t say enough about how beautiful this little hotel is. This hotel felt like a home with a charming personality, and we enjoyed our time here — the breakfast, the rooms, the pool, and a lovely barman Ismail. We could have stayed for many more days — a great place to stop and recuperate.

Gabriel was accommodating, hospital, full of kindness with his sea trek cozumel prices tips. Even multilingual, and last but not least, an excellent guide. A very charming hotel, where you feel at home during your stay. I recommend for 2-3-4 nights if you’re traveling in Yucatan.

Posada San Juan was recommended to us by friends in San Francisco, and our stay there helped us plan the rest of our 12-day trip. Owners Sara and Alfredo gave us expert advice not only on Valladolid shops and cultural spots but on the whole of Yucatan!! Breakfast was superb, beds and bedrooms large and well decorated.
